The SD•02 was Seed's first 4 piece tour design, offering better golfers a ball with long, stable ball flight and a great soft feel around the greens with impressive durability. It proved a great success, often called 'the best value ball in golf... by miles'.
The new 2021 SD-02 finds us continuing to flex our design muscles, increasing ball speed and reducing dispersion over the previous models already impressive performance.
Seed's base on campus at the Institute of Technology Carlow means we have onsite access to Design+ and EngCORE departments, allowing for rapid CAD design, 3D printing and wind tunnel testing of prototypes.
The new SD•02 a larger High Energy Rubber Core (EngCORE) with higher compression that rewards high swing speed with more ball speed and thereby more driver distance.
The outer mantle layer features a thicker ionomer material while the inner mantle feature DuPonts HPF2000 material. All are designed to work in tandem with the thinner urethane cover to increase elasticity for increased carry and ball speed while still maintaining a soft feel of the club face.
The redesigned alignment aid provides better visual perception of alignment when addressing the ball and has been developed in collaboration with amateurs and teaching professionals to improve putting and overall alignment.
