Tour performance. Refined.™

The SD-02 is one for the distance freaks, with lower spin off the driver producing a flatter (lower) ball flight. This is a 4-piece golf ball which was designed to provide consistent results right through the bag. The extra layer provides more spin & control around the greens too.

Premium, professional quality golf balls are really difficult to make.

And that usually means they’re expensive.

At Seed, our products are developed by a small team of industry experts, young designers and experienced engineers. We focus on a core product range, offering maximum performance for the best value around.

We are obsessed with lowering the cost of premium balls, no doubt about that, but we’re just as obsessed with performance. It’s one of the reasons our SD-01 was named as the Official Ball of the PGA EuroPro Tour. We make every effort to provide the best possible value for you, within an proven design concept.

Choosing the right ball can be confusing, so rather than offering ten (or twenty) different golf ball models, we focus on the best model for a specific performance category. This leads to significant cost savings in the development as well as in the production process.

It’s a little known fact, but USGA and R&A performance regulations mean golf ball designers are somewhat restricted with what they can do performance wise. There’s only so much speed (i.e. launch/distance) we can put into a design and still be conforming, so that tends to limit the designers a little when pushing the development of the core and mantle layers. Our design process focused heavily around aerodynamic performance (fluid dynamics more specifically) particularly Magnus and aerodynamic force & the subsequent effects on lift and drag.

For a golfer, this translates into three important performance criteria – launch angle/ball speed, distance and spin/feel.

We’ve independently tested Seed and results confirm Seed balls compare favourably with the major brands.

Balls have been tested with a robotic swing machine and with groups of ‘real’ golfers. Swing parameters were set to identical for each Swing Robot Test and Real Golfers were given multiple shots with each ball, with results averaged. Balls have also been tested at the USGA Performance Lab and undergone extensive factory testing.

All area’s of performance have been considered with design integrity and performance consistency being key. Testing involves collecting data from numerous parameters included external parameters such as set up, club specifications, swing type, attack angle, swing plan, weather and launch conditions.

Great golf balls

Ball SD-02…Checked them on launch monitor and they have almost as much spin as the Pro V1s but better price. They check up on the green as expected. Ball are durable and last an entire round without blemish. Highly recommend.

Great golf ball! Replaced Pro V1x

For context…Hcp 8.8, Driver ball speed avg 140 on simulator, avg distance 250-260 yds, 7 iron 170 yds, use 58 deg wedge from 90 yds on in. Have used SD-02 for 3 rounds. Previously used Pro V1x. Feels like I’m getting slightly more distance with driver. Similar hold on greens with short irons. Maybe more hold with longer irons? (Using less long irons since drives are longer!). Great feel on putts. I’m sold. Compared the SD-02 to the SD - 01 today, and the SD-02 felt a bit softer, especially on putts. Otherwise quite similar to me. Hope that helps!

Great quality golf ball

I am a new Seed user and found the SD-02 on par with other more popular main stream brands. The ball flight was true and I found that the ball held the greens nicely. Love the price point for a ball of this quality.

Killer ball especially for the price. Going to most likely be playing these for a while until seed comes out with their new ball and give those a try. Used to play pro v1x’s or tour bx’s but I’ll be sticking to the Ed-02 for the foreseeable future.

Great Ball for Players that generate a lot of Spin

A great ball for those players that naturally produce a lot of spin. The 02 ball has less spin, and a lower ball flight when compared to the 01 ball.

Don't take our word for it..
