Frequently Asked Questions

Which Seed is right for me?

There's a Seed for every game. Easiest path: take our free ball-fitting quiz — six questions, thirty seconds, no email required.

Short version:

SD-01 The Pro One — our everyman tour ball. Plays like a Pro V1. If you're not sure, start here.

SD-02 The Pro Tour — 4-piece, firmer, lower flight. Built for fast swings and windy conditions. Plays like a TP5x.

SD-05 The Pro Feel — low compression urethane. The tour ball for the rest of us — slower swings, softer feel.

SD-X1 The Pro X1 — for the bombers. The fastest Seed we've ever produced, optimized for higher swing speeds.

SD-15 Country Mile — 2-piece distance ball. Sneaky long, durable, forgiving on the mishits.

How does Seed compare to other tour balls?

Same performance. Fraction of the price. That's the whole pitch.

Our Pro balls are built to the same USGA/R&A performance line as the market leaders — same cast urethane covers, same multi-piece construction, same numbers off the launch monitor. Independent reviewers have tested them head-to-head, and we match up every single time.

Why play a premium urethane ball?

Maximum performance — the best mix of distance off the tee and control around the greens. The urethane cover is what gives you proper spin and feel on chips, pitches, and wedge shots. You'll shave shots.

Do I need to be a low handicap to play urethane?

No. Every golfer benefits from a urethane cover — especially around the greens. Better feel, more control on partial shots, easier to stop on the green.

That said, if you're still losing a few out there, the SD-15 Country Mile is the smart play. Cheaper, durable, and forgiving.

Why play a distance ball?

The SD-15 is properly long. The low-compression core makes it harder to impart side spin, so your bad shots aren't quite as bad — especially off the driver. Less left, less right, more fairway.

Are Seed balls USGA and R&A conforming?

Yes. Every Seed ball is built within the USGA and R&A performance and dimension rules — fully conforming for tournament play.

Where are Seed balls made?

Designed in Carlow, Ireland, at SETU university (wind tunnels, aerospace lab, the lot). Manufactured in Taiwan by the same tier-one factories that build the major brands' tour balls.
