The new SD-01. As good as anything out there, at a price everyone can afford™.

The new, 3rd Generation SD-01 is a refinement of the original SD-01 design and see's improvements through the bag.

USGA & R&A test results show this to be the longest Seed we've ever produced, maxing out at 306 yards.

Enhanced overall performance by improving ball speed, increase in distance through the bag and an improved softer feel for more responsiveness off the club (particularly the shorter clubs and putter).

To do all that we developed one of thinnest urethane covers in golf, at just 0.0275" thick (ProV1 is 0.0300" by comparison) and a new, faster core that we've dubbed SeedSpeed.

What does all that mean?

Well, this ones the perfect combination of distance, feel and short game spin.

Here are some of the features of the SD-01 3rd Gen:

  • 3 piece Tour construction (like a Pro-V1)
  • Larger 'SeedSpeed' Core
  • Ultra Thin 0.0275" Urethane cover
  • Thinner, more responsive mantle layer
  • New urethane cover formulation for softer feel

Premium, professional quality golf balls are really difficult to make.

And that usually means they’re expensive.

At Seed, our products are developed by a small team of industry experts, young designers and experienced engineers. We focus on a core product range, offering maximum performance for the best value around.

We are obsessed with lowering the cost of premium balls, no doubt about that, but we’re just as obsessed with performance. It’s one of the reasons our SD-01 was named as the Official Ball of the PGA EuroPro Tour. We make every effort to provide the best possible value for you, within an proven design concept.

Choosing the right ball can be confusing, so rather than offering ten (or twenty) different golf ball models, we focus on the best model for a specific performance category. This leads to significant cost savings in the development as well as in the production process.

It’s a little known fact, but USGA and R&A performance regulations mean golf ball designers are somewhat restricted with what they can do performance wise. There’s only so much speed (i.e. launch/distance) we can put into a design and still be conforming, so that tends to limit the designers a little when pushing the development of the core and mantle layers. Our design process focused heavily around aerodynamic performance (fluid dynamics more specifically) particularly Magnus and aerodynamic force & the subsequent effects on lift and drag.

For a golfer, this translates into three important performance criteria – launch angle/ball speed, distance and spin/feel.

We’ve independently tested Seed and results confirm Seed balls compare favourably with the major brands.

Balls have been tested with a robotic swing machine and with groups of ‘real’ golfers. Swing parameters were set to identical for each Swing Robot Test and Real Golfers were given multiple shots with each ball, with results averaged. Balls have also been tested at the USGA Performance Lab and undergone extensive factory testing.

All area’s of performance have been considered with design integrity and performance consistency being key. Testing involves collecting data from numerous parameters included external parameters such as set up, club specifications, swing type, attack angle, swing plan, weather and launch conditions.

Great performing golf ball

Have now played five rounds with the SD-01 balls. I love the feel and performance I’m getting. Great distance off the tee and just as good bite around the greens as my previous Pro VI’s. Could not be happier!

Great Ball

Was able to play a round and hit the Sd-01 side by side with a titleist pro v1 and both balls were very similar in how they played.

My favorite ball I play

The Pro One is the only ball I will continue to play for the foreseeable future. It’s a relatively soft and forgiving ball that I’ve had a great experience with in also creating spin with around the greens. For the price it is easily the best ball I could play right now after jumping back and forth from the Chrome Soft/Tours and Pro V1s and quality is night and day compared to the other D2C balls I’ve played. I’ve shot all of my career lows using this ball. It’s a no brainer decision

Seed—a pleasant, and less expensive surprise.

I ordered two dozen balls based on Seed’s IG ad. Why not!!? I love love love the yellow af color. The ball was a hit! Lol—I kill myself! I found it to fly just as far as my TaylorMade TP5, and was really soft around the green. I have since ordered 5 more dozen. My golf lads have each ordered as well.

Great ball!

Did a lot of research and after seeing a titleist rep say he couldn’t see the difference between a pro v1 and the seed I tried them out and happy I did. The only bad thing is the shipping costs can raise the price per ball but if you get the four dozen it’s free shipping. Love the seeds.
