Great value for a great ball!

At the suggestion of a club fitter to switch to a higher spinning ball, I looked around and decided to trial the Vice Pro/Plus and Seed SD-02 balls. I have played three rounds and all performed as well or better on approach and around the greens than the Chrome Soft and Chrome Tour balls I was using, but the SD-02 was best of the bunch in the wind, holding lines on drives and approach shots. I live and golf in Las Vegas so wind is a constant challenge. The trial subscription that Seed offers is a tremendous value (50% of the big brand premium balls!) for a ball that I will put in play every round. I can't wait to try them out in Ireland as well!

The BEST

I bought the SD-02 subscription and recently received them. Played 18 holes and already know these are great golf balls. They do all my Titlest ProV1 does but at half the price!! Keep up the good work

Received timely

Received the shipment on a timely manner. Trial pack states it comes with some type of publication but none was in the box nor mentioned on the packing list. Regardless, looking forward to trialing the balls. Tend to be a high ball player and mildly optimistic these will help lower my flight as advertised.

Seed SD-02 Trial Pack | Subscription

Premium, professional quality golf balls are really difficult to make.

And that usually means they’re expensive.

At Seed, our products are developed by a small team of industry experts, young designers and experienced engineers. We focus on a core product range, offering maximum performance for the best value around.

We are obsessed with lowering the cost of premium balls, no doubt about that, but we’re just as obsessed with performance. It’s one of the reasons our SD-01 was named as the Official Ball of the PGA EuroPro Tour. We make every effort to provide the best possible value for you, within an proven design concept.

Choosing the right ball can be confusing, so rather than offering ten (or twenty) different golf ball models, we focus on the best model for a specific performance category. This leads to significant cost savings in the development as well as in the production process.

It’s a little known fact, but USGA and R&A performance regulations mean golf ball designers are somewhat restricted with what they can do performance wise. There’s only so much speed (i.e. launch/distance) we can put into a design and still be conforming, so that tends to limit the designers a little when pushing the development of the core and mantle layers. Our design process focused heavily around aerodynamic performance (fluid dynamics more specifically) particularly Magnus and aerodynamic force & the subsequent effects on lift and drag.

For a golfer, this translates into three important performance criteria – launch angle/ball speed, distance and spin/feel.

We’ve independently tested Seed and results confirm Seed balls compare favourably with the major brands.

Balls have been tested with a robotic swing machine and with groups of ‘real’ golfers. Swing parameters were set to identical for each Swing Robot Test and Real Golfers were given multiple shots with each ball, with results averaged. Balls have also been tested at the USGA Performance Lab and undergone extensive factory testing.

All area’s of performance have been considered with design integrity and performance consistency being key. Testing involves collecting data from numerous parameters included external parameters such as set up, club specifications, swing type, attack angle, swing plan, weather and launch conditions.
