Tour performance. Refined.™

The SD-02 is one for the distance freaks, with lower spin off the driver producing a flatter (lower) ball flight. This is a 4-piece golf ball which was designed to provide consistent results right through the bag. The extra layer provides more spin & control around the greens too.

Premium, professional quality golf balls are really difficult to make.

And that usually means they’re expensive.

At Seed, our products are developed by a small team of industry experts, young designers and experienced engineers. We focus on a core product range, offering maximum performance for the best value around.

We are obsessed with lowering the cost of premium balls, no doubt about that, but we’re just as obsessed with performance. It’s one of the reasons our SD-01 was named as the Official Ball of the PGA EuroPro Tour. We make every effort to provide the best possible value for you, within an proven design concept.

Choosing the right ball can be confusing, so rather than offering ten (or twenty) different golf ball models, we focus on the best model for a specific performance category. This leads to significant cost savings in the development as well as in the production process.

It’s a little known fact, but USGA and R&A performance regulations mean golf ball designers are somewhat restricted with what they can do performance wise. There’s only so much speed (i.e. launch/distance) we can put into a design and still be conforming, so that tends to limit the designers a little when pushing the development of the core and mantle layers. Our design process focused heavily around aerodynamic performance (fluid dynamics more specifically) particularly Magnus and aerodynamic force & the subsequent effects on lift and drag.

For a golfer, this translates into three important performance criteria – launch angle/ball speed, distance and spin/feel.

We’ve independently tested Seed and results confirm Seed balls compare favourably with the major brands.

Balls have been tested with a robotic swing machine and with groups of ‘real’ golfers. Swing parameters were set to identical for each Swing Robot Test and Real Golfers were given multiple shots with each ball, with results averaged. Balls have also been tested at the USGA Performance Lab and undergone extensive factory testing.

All area’s of performance have been considered with design integrity and performance consistency being key. Testing involves collecting data from numerous parameters included external parameters such as set up, club specifications, swing type, attack angle, swing plan, weather and launch conditions.

Played one round…I live in Iowa so it was 50 degrees…but thought it came off the club nice. Really rolled true off the putter. Will be looking forward to playing it in warmer weather to see if it’s similar in distance to my Chrome Soft Tour balls I’ve been playing.

Bought 4 boxes. 2x sd01, 1 sd02, amd 1 sdx1. Played two rounds amd they have held up well. Two weeks and havent lost a ball. I still hvent treid the sdx1 or sd02 as i havent needed to chnage balls. dont forget to plant your seeds

Love this ball. Was using Wilson Staff triad. I enjoy that ball but Seed flies a little lower and slightly further. It is also slightly firmer but still get enough spin. Hit em straight!

Don't take our word for it..
